From the Draft Archives: Favorite Things Friday, Rando Edition

Hey hey hey! It’s August and I just remembered I have a blog! And then I remembered also that I have twenty billion draft posts for said blog. (One example: just the words “Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies.”)

Here’s a draft that is basically ready to go out into the world because it is just some things that I like, or at least liked in 2011. I think all the links still work. Enjoy.

Neatorama's list of 10 Most Magnificent Trees in the World

Buzzfeed's 43 Pictures of Dogs Playing in Leaves

I would wear that: Hipster Dress-Up

I've lost more brain space than I would care to admit to Marc Maron's WTF Podcast.  He gets amazingly cool folks to talk about the business of comedy with him in his non-air-conditioned Pasadena garage.  His interviews with Amy Poehler and Rupaul are both great places to start, and - be still my heart - he's talked to Adam Scott. Also oh just some guy named BARACK OBAMA.

Do you wish you could smell like hot chocolate all the time AND have smooth, hydrated skin?  Then I have the product for you.

The Kogod Courtyard at the National Portrait Gallery/Smithsonian Art Museum in Gallery Place is truly one of my favorite places in DC.   It's an ideal place to get some work done (free wifi!), tromp around in the centimeter-deep fountains, stare up at the mind-bending glass canopy or just people-watch.  Plus, it's just a little bit humid, which I like, and it has trees.  Total package.
